Local farm partnership

Choosing to work with The Happy Gut Nutrition Counseling is also support for your local food producers. We work with local farms in order to offer discounted CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) boxes to support your nutrition plan. We provide farm-fresh ideas for seasonal produce and handcrafted recipes in collaboration with your local purveyors. Additionally, THG donates a portion of each nutrition package cost to a local farm practicing sustainable agriculture.

This partnership exists to support positive new experiences with food and health, a sense of place and embodiment while supporting our local farmers. Most of the United States food supply is from a few select crops: wheat, corn, and soy. Monoculture farming practices, while offering some benefits, include soil disruption and beneficial microorganisms and nutrient degradation. More research indicates biodiversity of crops is not only less disruptive environmentally, but significantly more advantageous to human health.  If you are interested in learning more about the importance of polyculture agriculture and the risks of monoculture agriculture, click here.
